there is search, go to the bottom of this post and use the fourm jump dropdown, its in there.

Yes, but the confusing bit is that it doesnt appear on all pages, including the front forum page. It only appears when in a forum or in a forum section such as 'talk talk talk'. It would be useful if it were consistent.

How so?

Personally, my biggest complaint with the forums' search capability is that the results don't take you to the specific message, just the thread the message was posted in. That and the four-character search term minimum. (Try searching for "G4". Not fun.) And of course the fact that it's not linked directly off the front page of the forums.
