I have some fearture suggestions for search and how to help make it better.

I found the "F" word yesterday while doing a search in groups. It was a title of a group for petes sake!
So I thought of these ideas.

While creating a group, if you chose a word in the group name, and it is on a Mature list of words, a pop up will tell you "can't use this word".

If you chose a word that is on a mature list of words, it will automatically set your listing to Mature. So you won't have an option of telling us its PG when its not.

I have NOT figured out what to do about disgusting picutures displayed in PG listings...........AR doesn't work as I reported one I found and its still there....kind of a test to see if AR worked....NOPE!

Our network administrator did something similar when configuring the firewall in our workplace. For instance he disabled us to look at any page on the Internet with "teen" in the URL. Very inconvenient if you try to look for "sevenTEENth century art" on Google :(

The fun part is we can find out what he considers kinky by finding out which words he has blocked :) And if we really want to find sex, we can always use French or Spanish sites, he forgot to block dirty words in different languages (or he doesn't know enough languages)...

Another fun one--such as on Runescape where every bad word shows up as either something else ("chicken";) or just as ***terixs ( ;) )--is trying to find ways around it.
Sex:
Use the 5 as an s, the 3 as an e and )( as an x in various combinations (such as "53)(";) or misspell it, "seff," "secks," "seks"...

This usually doesn't prove fruitful. As mentioned above, people get around it using tricks.

Your AR should be honored. Maybe it just takes time for Lindens to keep up -- and you can and should report it again.

There is no end of hassle to trying to maintain this kind of division. However, it's appropriate and reasonable and I think the only solution is to keep working at it through the channels. LL may need to add some kind of channel or perhaps a residents' review board to help triage in matters like this.

Here is my fear of AR'ing to much. I think I saw in a police blotter, where someone got a warning for to many AR reports...??? Maybe I was mistaken about what they did, but I would hate to find out......

I am sure that someday (hoping soon) lindens will come up with a better search, and a way to make sure mature content, really stays in the mature content!

You wouldnt think you could get in trouble for Legitimate Abuse Reports, reguardless of how many you make.
