Since the rating system is about to be ripped out and we will have a gap on the pie menu where it used to be, i figure a good idea would be to replace it with something new. I have a idea which could spice up peoples second lives. The idea could be similar to a option from IMVU. Replace Rate option with a Emote option. When you open the Emote menu you get a list of emotes with couple's animations you could do consensually with others. Sorta like the !hug name / !kiss name scripts, but official by LL. These would be pre-programmed by LL and not alterable, to prevent using the system for trouble. Simply click to hug your target, wave to them, or offer them a massage. Another idea would be a little less secure, but allow the options in the Emote list to trgger gestures from your inventory. I know this could contribute to the gesture spam, so thats why i mentioned this last. I have no set up a vote for this, because i don't think it will pass anyway. But it is a fun idea.

This would be nice. And on the profile replace it with a option to 'send a hug' maybe?

Perhaps a refresh button? Group windows have them to refresh the page status. Since we can't normally see a persons online status without looking at their profile, and the profile only shows what the status was at the time you opened it, i think it's only fair to include a refresh button.

How' bout just a refresh? Or whatever it is that SL does when you change groups to get people to rez when they're not rezzing.
Wait. That wouldn't work in the pie, as you need to see the person to get the pie... how 'bout just as a button then? Off topic. Sorry.
I like the "Emotes" idea alot, as well as the "Send a Hug" sub-idea (Although, I shouldn't say that, as Banking Laws and I are apparantly the same person).
I've thought about it and there's nothing else I can think of that is as good as this idea, really.
Go for it, LL... s'got my vote.

When i log in, their getting declined. I don't accept friendships unless the person introduces themselves and has a conversation with me, not showing to be a idiot. ;p

I really like the Refresh idea, which would cause all clothing textures and the shape to be reloaded for your client. See someone with breasts who doesn't normally have them? Refresh. Attachments in the crotch? Refresh. Missing Texture pants? Refresh.

Admire Invoking this function sends an IM to the person (if clicking a person) or the owner/creator of an object.
"Winter Ventura is admiring the object: ER Big Rubber Duck at Sim<0,0,0>... Which you created (or own, or created AND own)"
"Winter Ventura admires you"
NOt much different than rate really, implements a generally positive emote/high-five feeling.. serves as an icebreaker... but doesn't tax the database by having to STORE how many people have admired you and/or your work.

Isn't the Admire idea can be done just as well with simple IM or chat?

It could, yes, but it means people have to go to the effort.

From: Draco18s Majestic It could, yes, but it means people have to go to the effort. That's probably the best reason not to implement it then. You like someone or admire their work, MAKE an effort to tell them. I would much rather a pesonal message than some generic platitude.

Of course the TP bug when you can only TP your freinds kind of made it helpful. Still fixing the bug would have been better
