Well, I'm gonna be a butt and ask again, can't we have a first person view without being in "shoot em up" mode? And second question, Jake Cellardoor has put together a really terrific, fantastic cool help file for the Linden Scripting Language, it seems to me that it would be super easy for you all to make it available to open while we are in-world, like we can other help files. Could you please include it? Thanks so much, Ingie PS, here is the thread where you can get the help file: /invalid_link.html

Mouselook is first person. Click the mouselook button (upper right corner of screen), or mousewheel your zoom all the way in until it's in mouselook.
You don't have to have a gun, or other scripted attachment, to utilize mouselook. I use it all the time.

I know this, but you can't move normally (turn left and right) you end up shimmying sideways (I know you can use the mouse to turn, but it's annoying), plus none of the normal windows are open to you, like edit mode, etc...
If I had the choice, I'd never be in 3rd person, unless I wanted to take a picture of myself. I find it very disorienting.
Why can't they just move the camera inside your head? It seems super easy to do?

Actually, you can wear a scripted object (I'm fairly certain) that will let you remap keys, so that you could make the 'a' and 'd' keys turn you in mouselooks mode, instead of strafing. I, personally, would prefer to configuration options to completely remap the keys through the interface. I personally can't stand the "wsad" standard that most games use. Generally the first thing I do when installing an FPS is remap the keys. would also be nice to be able to map additional keys for certain things. Like throwing, punching, kicking, etc.

Well, yes, I'm not sure it'll be possible to smooth out the focus system totally... in case you don't use that one, it's like a square magnifying glass, first icon on the left in edit mode. It'll help allot but not like a real modeling program. However, if you’re like me, and you move yourself and get “pulled back” to your 3rd person view, it is a pain… Also, another inherent difficulty of working “online” is the lag. So often, I hit the focus tool, and attempt to zoom in or out, but end up moving a wall or something, and cursing!!! Hee hee hee (as far as I know, there is no undo function or reset)
Someday, Linden Lab will be able to allow importing of objects created outside SL, and that will be much more efficient in vertices and faces to render. As well as face mapping of textures. I think there is a building control issue (how to tax, how to store, etc..) on this, but hopefully it’ll be worked out one of these days.
But I STILL WANT A “REAL 1st PERSON VIEW!!” hee hee hee
Also, it’d be really nice to have that lsl help file available while inside Second Life. Do you think any Linden programmers check out this forum?? Just wondering….
Love Ingie
