It ought to be possible to indicate the number of holes in a parcel. People might like to know that.

Should be able to make a program determine that, that is, so it would display automatically.

Suppose you have a piece of black construction paper. This represents the parcel.

Now cut a hole out of it. This represents the hole.

Picture a big chunk of land.

You turn on View->Land Owners and see that it's for sale and at a decent price so you buy it. Weird thing is, there's a small chunk, right in the middle, that you didn't get when you bought the land. Zomg, it's a separate parcel and it's set for sale at a bazillion L$ per m2.

So.. You're stuck with a nice chunk of land but there's a bit in the middle of it that you don't own. The dick (and that's being nice) that owns it will be happy to sell the hole to you but it's going to cost you. A lot.

I liked my answer better.

Oh, and now that I think about it, it ought to be possible to detect non-contiguous parcels too, I suppose.

Isn't that what the "Property Lines" under View is for? Thats what I have always used when finding property boarders.

When you have a little parcel just looking at it with parcel boundaries turned on probably works alright.

When you're considering buying a big parcel, say a quarter of a sim, it would be easier to have a field in the About Land or somewhere that told you how many holes are in the parcel.

For that matter, even for small parcels, if you are looking at dozens or hundreds of them, as I think you an rest assured some folks do, something that instantly alerted them to the existence of holes would be useful.

For non-contiguous pieces of land that are one parcel, the parcel boundary lines don't really do what's needed, because the two pieces of land can be quite far apart.

Shouldn't these be AR-able now as abuse/extortion?
