A few suggestions

After being on Second Life for a while now I would like to make the following suggestions, applogies if they have already been mentioned.

- TP home when SIM / land goes offline.

I find it rather annoying that when land goes off line the only option available is view IMs and Quit.
Is there some technically reason why when land goes off line SL cannot simply teleport me to another destination or allow me to TP to another land??

- Identifying owners of particles (or some script method of detection).

There has been many occasions that certain users have been spamming SIMs with particles which are next to impossible to locate because you cannot view properties.
Once the offending user has been detected ignoring will prevent the particles from showing.

- Identifying users who play audio clips from wearable objects

- Set a cap limit for chat echo script (this prevents text spamming the chatroom)

- Mute group IMs or allow groups to be selected individually and ignored

Sometimes people just don't know when to stop writing in group IMs a disable option would be most welcomed.
Also why is the group limit 25?? could this be increased a little bit more.

- Friend request from right clicking the Avatar should ask "Are you sure?"

I've done this a few times by accident when SL lags trying to view someone's profile.
It's a little embarrassing when you really don't want to offer friendship just yet.

- Hide online status from groups (not just friends)

cheers,

You know...that was asked back when it was 15.

Know what the answer is?

Database size. Each additional 1 group we're allowed to have, roughly increases the total group database by a million entries (figure 1 in 15 people creating a new group now that they have 26 instead of 25; I think that's a fair ratio).

Also, each agent carries its group data with it from server to server. More groups, more rubber-banding. A group's data isn't small.

Move your camera up above the spam and sorta eyeball the center then zoom in on that area.

In the View -> Beacons menu, check Hide Particles and turn on Particle beacons. Back in the View menu, check Beacons Always On and Highlight Transparent. From the beacon and transparency highlight, it's usually not too hard to spot the particle emitter. Right click on it and check the owner.

You'll likely screw this up the first few times - I know I sure did! - but it's pretty easy once you practice a little.

Similar to above but turn on Sound beacons. Don't really need to Hide Particles or Highlight Transparent, though. When somebody plays a sound, the beacon should blink on.
