Ok basically this is my problem. A week after i give somebody a skin created by me, which i had accidently kept marked as full transfer/mod/copy permissions, I get Ims from several different people telling me i have texture stolen and resold somebody elses work. I received a skin with ME chloris hathor as the creator, only renamed and different textures than the original. This is really frustrating because i had to take the blame for somebody else using my name to rip off and resell textures, with no way to prove what happened.

I think that when someone modifies anything created by you, it should have their name stamped on the description. It should say the original creators name, and underneath of it "modified by: (whoever modified it most recently, or maybe all the people who have modded it) and maybe the time or date. It is really a problem when people start using objects or body parts created in your name to hand out as freebies from someone elses work.

Please please pls put this in the next update, Linden Labs. I dont think its very hard to do right?

that's a good idea. It would also protect people from having their prims or scripts used to finger them in griefer attacks.

I would like to this too, I get products back with the description "it just broke" only to look and see clear signs of someone tampering with it. Including one instance of someone leaving a 'link message hacker' script in, though quite what they hope to achieve with that I don't know, since my object doesn't do anything that affects others or involves money or anything anyway.

Problem with a full perm textures (which is what a skin is) is that it is downloaded to the client's computer as a .jpg file, gets modified, and reuploaded as a new asset.
