A three-prim hanging torus chain in the 1.2 demo was enough to reduce the time dilation factor in Dore to 0.25. A two-prim chain on the ground reduced it to 0.5.
Havok 2 isn't in SL 1.2.

Something must not be optimized in the 1.2 preview yet.
I've recently done a 5-torus dangling chain in Morris with no noticable time dialation.
I was somewhat surprised to see 1.2 Ahern broght to it's knees at 0.02 (yes 2 hundredths) time dialation when I dropped 128 hollow spheres. I'm sure I've tried this before in 1.1 without bringing time nearly to a halt...

Old Olive used to have huge chains sometimes and I don't remember excessive lag at that time, maybe a little.
