I think that groups should be able to buy land as a group, as well as have a group account that they can put their funds in. If the group owns land, the taxes would come outta this fund.

Anyone have anything to add to this?

I was thinking, maybe groups should be able to own objects as well.

James,

I borrowed your idea for a post over in General earlier today. I knew someone had suggested group land recently but couldn't remember exactly who. Just wanted to say I wasn't trying to take credit.

Lot of things to consider tho, for group accounts.

How does the money get into the account? A manual transfer from each individual member to the group account? An automatic deposit on stipend day, based on a percentage of.. something? What if a member leaves the group -- do they get any money back from the group account, and if so, how in the world is that amount going to be calculated? Who can spend group money? Group founder only? Group officers only? Anyone in the group after a majority or unanimous vote?

Some of the same questions apply to group land.

Don't get me wrong -- I really like the idea of group money & land. I just think there are a -lot- of details that would need to be hammered out.

Yes, Shebang, I saw that you had done this, its fine.

I think that all your ideas are very good, and, maybe all these could be options that the group founder can set up?
