OK this may end up in the wild hairs bucket but here goes:

One of the things that I find suboptimal about working with Second Life is the fact that a mouse and ketboard are not all that suited as interfaces to 3D environments. I would like to suggest that the addition of another input device such as 3Dconnection's SpaceNavigator might make working in the SL environment easier and more effective. (see IEEE Spectrum http://spectrum.ieee.org/feb07/4883 and http://www.3dconnexion.com/ for descriptions).

I suppose the ideal interface would be a motion capture suit, but that seems excessive (cost, complication, inconveinience). An input device like SpaceNavigator that allows simultaneous inputs with six degrees of freedom should be sufficient. FWIW, the MSRP is less than US$60 for non-commercial use w/ on-line support.

(Disclosure: I have no connection with 3Dconnexion, but am a member of IEEE.)

Interesting you should mention that, given that Second Life itself grew out of a project that was originally a testbed for VR hardware. :)
