Ya know how sometimes people record chat logs in notecards, but you can't be sure if they edited it or not? Well why not just be able to save a "chat log file" in your inventory? It can get rid of the system messages and just record speach, and it would be 100% non-editable. That would be uber cool.

I like the idea, would most definatly make using chat logs as evidence for something a lot more credible.
How would you select what it logs? I'd assume people would want to be able to log things that have already been said so.. click Create Chat Log and enter something like the time you want it to start or the amount of chat lines before when you tried to log it?

Couldn't it be an item thats stored server side or if it was on the persons computer perhaps encrypted and in some propretary SL format?

I actually don't understand why we don't already have something like this -- EQ has a system where you can turn log on or off and it saves to the hard drive. Being that it's so easy to move from in-game to desktop, why on earth don't we already have a system for this? I've been wondering since I started playing . . . (Darwin, please notice the three periods . . .).

I wouldn't mind this, but I would also like a Save To HD Log possibility for backups, and you could use the Chat Log filetype as authenticity when you wanted. or something, I dunno. I endorse this idea.

I imagine you could always cut and paste from the read-only log to your HD.
