Currently If you mark a parcel for sale to anyone, anyone including those on the parcel banlist can purchase the parcel. If I ban someone from my parcel, I generally have a good reason for not wanting them around, and this for me includes allowing them to purchase that parcel. I have put in a proposal to disallow land sales to those on the banlist. I will post the link from the vote tool as soon as I post it. http://secondlife.com/vote/vote.php?get_id=2996

the ability to ban whole groups isnt a bad idea in and of itself. Even w/o the purchase part.

Smacks of elitism and discrimination to me.

A few reasons

From: Helmut Wunderle If you are selling it, why do you even care who buys it? All Linden bux are the same color. Smacks of elitism and discrimination to me. Personally, I can think of a few reasons. One of them is Ad Farm creators, I am very against this practice and the last thing I personally want is to sell a parcel and have it chopped up into another ugly ad farm. I am currently involved with the Arbor Project's Clocktower network, which maintains a blacklist of those sorts of people. And as for elitism or discrimination, it's my land and I should be able to sell it to whomever I want and prevent whomever I want from buying it as well, I am looking for a way to make that easy. Each individual should have the right to enable or disable that feature so it represents their own views.

The only solution I can see is one that has been suggested to avoid seling to land barons - don't put it up for general sale. Put an ad here in the land sale forum, then when you get a request to buy you can check your list first.
I, too, would like this feature. When I finally get a bigger plot, I would not want to sell to someone I know is going to split it up for adfarms, and there are certain groups I would like to avoid selling to.

From: James Gill Currently If you mark a parcel for sale to anyone, anyone including those on the parcel banlist can purchase the parcel. And even if they can't, the next owner is likely to reset the banlist and set it for sale at a slightly higher price anyway, so if you don't want someone to buy your land... don't mark it for sale to anyone.
