Regarding the new Inspect option on the pie menu, wouldn't it be good if it would let you select the prim for editing, assuming proper permissions?

Maybe LL will expand on it after a while.
If it had the same format as "inventory" for an object it would be great. It would be nice if it also showed each prim's contents, such as scripts. Probably due to some bug, I have found items that somehow got into the contents of a single prim in a linked object which I can't explain. ex: had a hair piece in a house wall. It should not allow someone to inspect an object they do not own, unless the owner wishes it - make it optional in the object properties.

I found this last night. There seem to be two Inspect options, one for avatars (other than your own), and one for objects. Inspect an object to find out who created/owns every single child prim in the link set. Left-click a link set to bring its list of child prims up in the Inspect window. Click a line in the Inspect window to hilight that prim in purple. So far, I haven't found any results for Inspecting an avatar.
I think this is part of the new tools they've been making rumblings about that are geared toward helping us spot copies of items or unfairly modified items. I'm not sure, though. So far, I can't see much use for it.

Child prims can have their group-sharing box be different from the root prim in the link set, and they can even be shared to a different group. I think both of these are bugs, because there's currently no way to tell that this is what's happening. It might be neat if Inspect showed which group each prim was set to and whether or not it was shared.

From: Kinga Svarog asking for another box in the pie I didn't suggest another box in the pie. The Inspect option is already in the pie. Selecting it produces a list of prims. The edit option would be in the list of prims. This would allow selecting prims by picking out names, which edit linked parts doesn't do, and would allow easy selection of prims which are surrounded by other prims or otherwise difficult to select.

Or let you open it from the editor next to the "Edit linked" checkbox. That was the first thing I thought of when I saw that option, I've long been asking for a way to select specific prims of a complex layered object without having to move the layers in front out of the way first.

I can't remember if the feature works on something I'm wearing.. but.. anyways, it would be very useful to be able to select things like that. I have some prims on my head, and some other things I have made, that are difficult to select without doing some tricks to focus the camera on the ground or something nearby and very carefully try to slide/move the camera into place to select them. Or my striped tail with its overlapping flexi prims in the exact same place, position, and size, I often must try to click again and again to try to get the right one.

Another feature I didn't know about.
Was this in the release notes?
What else is in there that hasn't been advertised?
