The "Land for Sale" map should have a threshold at some reasonable number.
Anything above L$10 /sq m should just be considerd a joke and not shown on this map.

i heartily support this feature. at least colour code land for sale according to a linden/meter ratio.

I definately support you on this Kex. Heck, even at $10/m is a little high... I've spent so many times looking for land on the map, and roaming all over the place to either find some bozo who's selling 1024m for $20,000 or some sillyness like that.
I feel that $5-6/m is an even better number. It would kinda curb all the land barrons out there and let people see the serious land sales out there.

While I would find this feature helpful, wouldn't it also serve the Land Barons even more - with this feature they could quickly search for bargain properties, scoop it up, and resell it...

The way an economy works is the prices are set by the number of people buying a product at the price it's at.
If the price is too high, people don't buy. If it's too low, people buy and buy and buy until the supply is gone.
Putting artificial limitations on the sale of land is no better than putting artificial limitations on the sale of a prim.
That said, land barons are evil evil evilevil people, and I hope everyone who joins SL is smart enough to know that 10K for a 1024m plot of land is INSANE.
A BETTER solution would be to remove the default value in the 'For Sale' box on land. SO many plots are simply set at L$10K because that's the default value, and everyone assumes that to be the right price.

Since seeing the Finder for "Land for Sale" in the 1.3 preview, I've changed my mind.. You can now sort by L$/sq m and easily sort all the ridiculous land sales to the bottom =P
