Ok, this has bugged me on numerous occasions and I'm not even an active grouper...

Why are we told that a vote on members and stuff took place by email AFTER it happened?

Well I know why... but why aren't we told WHEN a vote is proposed?!

I often don't take part in votes because: No one tells me what exactly I'm voting for AND (this being the big reason) I'm not told a voteing is taking place until AFTER it has happened.

It should work like this:

Someone says "hey vote on this"
You get an email that says "Person has asked you to vote on this for this reason, the vote will end on (date)"
You go and vote.
You get an email "Hey heres what happened."

BUT currently it seems to work like this:

You get an email "This vote ended."

WHAT?!

So PLEASE put in something that emails us when someone ISSUES the vote so we can go and vote on it!

And if I'm totaly missing something here and theres an option to turn this on so I do get emailed when someone issues a vote instead of when the vote has ended and I didn't even get to vote... tell me how to do it, ignore this thread, and whack me upside the head with some large dull object.

And weeee for posts that are longer than they need to be! :D

Edit: Oh and of course if this isn't implemented it should be TOGGABLE so you can turn on/off these group emails for those who DON'T care about group votes.

This has also bothered me for a while too Oz. I've started thinking that it is just when you are an Officer of a group, will you get the "Vote now" type email/notification. I could be wrong though. And even if it is just officers voting, it would be nice to get a notice that one is going to be taking place, that way at least maybe I could offer some input if I felt the need. So if it is currently set to officers only that get the notice, I would love to see an option added where officers could also have members notified. :)

Interesting thing is most of the notifications that you get for things like 'Recall Elections' and such, are just a bug in the machine making it SEEM like there was an election, when all that happened was the person voluntarily left the group.
