To the author of "Prop: 2629 - Hotkey to hide user interface", and anyone else who'd like to turn off the ugly interface from time to time, there is a both a menu option and a hotkey to toggle the interface off and on. You have to have Client and Server showing in the main menu in order for the hotkey and menu item to work. The Client and Server menus are toggled on and off with Control Alt D. With the Client and Server menus showing, the hotkey to toggle the interface off and on is Control Alt 1. The menu item is called "UI" on the Client/Rendering/Features/UI menu. UI stands for User Interface, I believe, or possibly Ugly Interface.

You can edit them from XMI files in SL's client folder.
(it's not worth it anyway)
