I would like to request that Lindens once again increase the number of groups that people can belong to at one time or make categories of groups.
As a designer most of my groups are filled by groups that are required to place merchandise in my shops . This is necessary because of all the people who litter and dump stuff in second life. Sim owners need to be able to turn on the auto -return.
However, I am constantly juggling this as to which ones i can keep or sacrifice to add another group.
it also leaves me no room for things that I would like to belong to for Social or other reasons. With so many people, activities , etc in second life now, I really could use at least a 50 group maximum if not more. Acutally I would like to see 100. I do not understand why this group limit is such a big issue. Who would it bother if it was increased?
Maybe i just don't realize all the complications of this issue.
Please increase the group maximum number if possible !

It would bother LL because it would mean adding a feature to SL that would be useful and that a lot of people would want.
Don't worry, M has hinted at the possibility to moving Groups out of world and onto a website. I'm sure you'll be able to have all you want there. It will scale.

Since one can set an object to the correct group then leave that group, the only reason to stay in it is to change the rezzed objects. I wonder if there could be an addition to Group functions that could allow a list of former members, OKed by the group owner, to join without needing owner permission.
So it would be:
A forms Group 1 and invites B, C, D, E. They all place objects and B and C leave the group. A has a list of all members, and one of the default role capabilities is "rejoin any time." A unticks that capability for D, because D reveals herself to be an asshat. B needs to change his vendor, so he rejoins the group, changes the vendor, then leaves. C never needs to rejoin as all her things are networked.
