And an orange, pumkin-grinned moon! :> There could be in-world environmental effects for all the holidays, sort of like how Google modifies their logo. ...White Christmas in every sim?

I love Halloween and Christmas too! During Halloween I have an excuse to wear a costume and people won't look at me funny. Will there be people trick or treating in SL? If there will be, I'll leave some candy by my place.

Night for all of Halloween would be great! I'm building a Dark Cathedral for Halloween and I've realized things just don't look all that spooky in broad daylight. I briefly considered faking interior darkness with textures (since all light in SL is ambient), but then it would just look wrong when the sun goes down.

One question tho, IF a person did the *force daylight* would there be daylight the rest of the day or just the *normal* period of time? I mean if someone accidently or just HAD to force daylight for a few... would they spend the rest of the day in sunlight?
That'd suck..

I'm for this idea. However, WHAT do we give to trick or treaters in SL? We need to decide on a standard!

That'd suck.. It has been my experience that once you force daylight you spend the rest of your time online in daylight, you have to log to get normal solar rythem again. But isn't there a way to force darkness too?

From what I've seen, Alt + N only forces daylight, but doesn't force night (so why is it called "Force Sunset"??).

Using ALT-N a second time doesn't cause night, but you can use Mouse Moves Sun to force night. Select Mouse Moves Sun from the Debug->World menu, then go into mouselook mode. The sun will move wherever you look. Then exit mouselook mode and turn off Mouse Moves Sun. Putting the sun under the world seems to cause night. This is also cool for taking pictures if you want a dramatic sunset in just the right place

you could always use the "mouse moves sun" tool in debug, which points the sun wherever you lok while in mouselook
