i was looking over the system specs for SecondLife, and realized you guys are asking for an awfully high-powered machine. i think you should tone down the game some so that the minimum requirements and recommended requirements are as follows: MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Pentium II 233MHz 32MB RAM 100MB Free hard disk space 4MB PCI or AGP graphics card 8-bit sound card or Disney Sound Source⢠Windows 95 with DirectX 3.0 14.4kbps modem
RECOMMENDED REQUIREMENTS Pentium II 400MHz 64MB RAM 250MB Free hard disk space 16MB 3D AGP graphics card 16-bit sound card Windows 98 with DirectX 5.0 33.6kbps modem
then, maybe i'd be able to play it on this laptop

Yeah good idea. You should just forget about all that streaming 3D and such, just strip it down to a chat-box... that will do.

Yeah, and while you're there, make it so the chat box does not recognize the letter E. That should allow the 14.4 modem people to just whiz along the SecondLife Streaming Superhighway--at least before Al Gore invents it.

I Have no idea what you all are complaining about. This game works great on my Timex Sinclair!
Ok, so I had to hotrod it with the 64K memory module and needed a 120 minute tape to download everything, but it works great!

Hotrodder! Well I got it working on my CompuPro 8/16 with M/Drive running under MP/M with a Televideo 910 Terminal. Needed to swap 20 of those 8" floppy disks and now I have a light case of disk-swap elbow, which is why my avatar favors his left side, but it's very functional. As long as nothing moves. And with Inverse Video, object lighting works REALLY well for me!
