would be great to see a Vsync and triple-buffering option in SL, for those who want to use these options. or maybe a framerate lock, because if framerate go higher than the refresh rate, image tearing occurs. http://www.tweakguides.com/Graphics_9.htmlVsync option would be nice for Second Life. (strangely, the refresh rate lock i've put in the DirectX (60Hz) doesn't seem to work, since if i look at something empty, it often go over the framerate. so PLEASE put some Vsync option in it, it will take out the image tearing of SL. for me, image tearing often occur when i go mouselook and rotate my view around. and before anyone ask, nothing is overheating in my computer, nothing is overclocked, i have the latest NVidia drivers for my video card (Asus Geforce 7600GT Silent 256mb). using Windows XP SP2, CPU is AMD Athlon 64 3700+ 2.2Ghz Socket 939 "San Diego" core.

How about a strait up "limit frame rate to:" box. Maybe my system has a refresh of 60 and my frame rate is never higher than 30, but I want to keep my system from running hot, so I limit it to 15 instead.

i would limit mine to 60fps in a game called "Fatal Fake", there's an option called "RefreshRateLock" in the "FPS" frame(s) per second) section, that would be a perfection option for SL!

Can't you already do something like this in your ATI/Nvidia tweak tools... make a custom video/graphics profile for SL or any other game?

From: Laurana Newell i would limit mine to 60fps Different strokes for different folks. I *can't* get SL up to 60 fps unless I turn on ALL rendering.

Hello ! VSync can save up to 32 Watts on some systems ! So a FPS limit could be very useful to save even more or to allow people to control how much CPU and GPU resources SL needs. But if you don't care about energy waste, maybe you care about fan noise, or overheating laptops... I'll never play SL on a laptop without a FPS limiter. If you want to help changing this please vote here on Second Life's Issue Tracker: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-10077Thank you for your votes !

From: Laurana Newell the latest NVidia drivers for my video card (Asus Geforce 7600GT Silent 256mb). Since you are using an nVidia card you should be able to set the V-Sync option yourself in the nVidia control panel. You can even set options specifically for the SL client if you want. Look under the Manage 3D settings options and then the Program Settings tab.
