Really Easy Feature Change - New Client Version Issue

(I know it frosts Wednesday's shorts when someone says "Here is something that is really easy to fix";)

Ok, all shorts-frosting aside, every time we get a new client, the install winds up writing over (or destroying) the past version's settings.ini file. Could LL either stop doing that or at least figure out a way to migrate changes from one version to another? If all you're doing is adding additional lines to the file, can't they be appended at the bottom? Must you wipe the whole settings file out every time? Yes, I realize that if you are changing existing entity/setting names and corresponding values, it's easier and more simple to wipe out and re-write the file than append text.

It's a teeny tiny thing I realize, but annoying all the same. Especially when versions come out relatively quickly after each other and I have to make several changes on 3 out of 4 tabs each time for optimal game performance on my system. I would have to imagine I am not the only one who has this nit to pick.
