What is the deal with this site http://www.secondlifebrasil.com.br/
Did Linden split off a seperate grid for the brasilians?.. why? (!) This kind of fracturing bothers me.

That is rather interesting. It's not a new concept, WoW for instance has a seperate Chinese website and such, but I wonder if this Brazillian client connects to the main grid, or a seperate grid? If it's just a website, I think it's a good thing to provide a place where people who don't speak english can deal with the frustrations of Second Life in their native language. I wonder if their customer support is just as poor...

Wow, you've got to be kidding. *Checks website* Ok, i'm gonna test it with some translations and report here, see ya soon.
-Smiles. Edit 1 -> 5 minutes later: If "Voltar" is log-out, then it is another translation of the website. Downloading client and attempting to log-in... Edit 2 -> 2 minutes later: Ok, "Voltar" appears to be "Return". Edit 3 -> 10 minutes later: Ok, this is another version of the client, just translated. I'm redirected to the Teen Grid, and the .exe info appears to be Linden Lab, so it's just translated. _____________________

Well, I speak portuguese and know a bunch of Brazilians in SL. I can shed some light on the matter!
Don't worry, it's the main grid. There are several private Brazilian sims linked together, but they're on the main grid. They have all types of info for Brazilian newbs and are usually packed with Brazilians. It looks like a cleaner version of Rio..packed streets and all. Anyone that wants to get a small taste of what it's like to go to Brasil should go check it out. About a year ago there was the beginning of a major influx of Brazilians into SL, mostly because of a few articles that came out down there. There were a ton of people without any place to go that didn't speak enough english to get by! It looks like LL realized this and had this web site made. _____________________
