The soon to be Web Tab in our profiles let's us load an url into a mozilla browser embeded in our profile panels.
Why not add the same functionality into the F1 browser, or better yet a separate resizable mozilla browser?
Wouldn't it be nice to have the LSL wiki in a browser in the SL client, conveniently?

My thoughts exactly!

I would also love to have an object being able to open the "internal browser" with some LSL command.
I do some objects that relies on data i save on a apache/php server. It would be great to get up a simple web interface in SL to make it possible to configure the gadgets with a proper form!
I can see a million uses of this.

Sadly, our ability to redefine the F1 browser's home page appears to have been eliminated by the removal of the HtmlHelpHomePage debug setting.
There's still an HtmlHelpLastPage, but that doesn't seem to have any useful effect.

This is still a good idea. There is still a place to set the home page for the F1 help, it's just moved from where it used to be. C:\Program Files\SecondLife\skins\xui\en-us\floater_html_help.xml From: someone
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" standalone="yes" ?> <floater can_close="true" can_drag_on_left="false" can_minimize="true" can_resize="true" height="500" min_height="300" min_width="300" name="htmlhelp" title="Second Life Help" width="700"> <button bottom="-45" follows="top|left" font="SansSerifSmall" height="20" label="Back" left="15" name="back_btn" width="70" /> <button bottom_delta="0" follows="top|left" font="SansSerifSmall" height="20" label="Home" left_delta="75" name="home_btn" width="70" /> <button bottom_delta="0" follows="top|left" font="SansSerifSmall" height="20" label="Forward" left_delta="75" name="forward_btn" width="70" /> <button bottom="10" follows="bottom|right" font="SansSerifSmall" height="20" label="Close" name="close_btn" right="-10" width="50" /> <web_browser bottom="40" follows="top|left|bottom|right" font="SansSerifSmall" left="15" name="html_help_browser" right="-15" top="-55" start_url="http://secondlife.com/app/help/" /> <text bottom="5" follows="bottom|left|right" left="15" name="status_text" right="-70" top="25"> Done </text> </floater>
The bold italics is where you put the url you'd like to have come up when you press home in the F1 browser.

I certainly think that the web tab in profiles should be a list of URLs that then open in the internal browser. I don't like having my page crushed into the profile window.

For anyone currently using SuezanneC's way I made a website a few days ago allowing you to go to any website on the planet using a form.
Set the value highlighted in bold on her quote to "http://www.runcall.net/ingame.php
