There's nothing more annoying than logging on and opening a dozen or more group notices for events that have come and long gone. It might be handy to have a way of having an expiry date and time on a group notice. This would be useful when advertising a limited time event, like a party or theme night at a club. That way, users logging on well after the event is over, wouldn't get a dozen or so outdated notices (especially if they haven't logged on for a while).

I found that if I enter a group that gives out notices I'm not interested in also happens to be a group I'm not interested in.
Sometimes I have just accepted the invitation on a whim. I leave those groups quite quickly.
There are so many other clubs and groups out there, I'm sure I'm not missing anything. (^_^)y

From: Kaia Kittel THIRDED! (not sure that's a word?! ) I've seen it used, all the way up to fourty-seventhed I think. Well, then there were a few infinities involved, as well as a recursive Busy Beaver sequence, but...47 was the largest finite known value (BB values are finite, but very very large, we've (scientists) calculated BB(4) for certain and have lower bounds on BB(5) and BB(6): BB(1) = 1, BB(2) = 6, BB(3) = 14, BB(4) = 107, BB(5) >= 47,176,870, BB(6) >= 10^2879...so you can immaging what a BB(1111111)'ed would be, or even taking a "super turing machine busy beaver" (i.e. a machine capable of computing BB numbers and finding it's BB programs) and BB-2 (111111)'ed or... BB-BB(111) (111)'ed etc.) Ah, yes. Naming the Bigger Number

Boring and redundant group messages = boring and redundant group. I would leave the group in a split second to make room for more and better groups... Forum Cartel and NCI for example. (^_^)y

The group I get messages from I want to see when I'm in world and when I'm not (get the in my email) in case they have an event I want to go to and have the time to do so.
After that however I couldn't give a flying rat's behind about.

From: Draco18s Majestic After that however I couldn't give a flying rat's behind about. Exactly - so if you'd been off for a week (maybe on a holiday somewhere) and you came back and logged in, you don't really want to see half a dozen or more messages of events that have come and gone, do you?

You just made my point for me. I believe I already agreed to the OP's suggestion.
