2a) Event Type Icons (replace the star in the events list with these?)
2b) A short set of Checkboxes to list/not-list categories like: Game/Contest, Party/Gathering, Class, NewPlace/GrandOpening, Auction/Sale, Misc/Other and Mature. (And only send global notifications to people that have left that type of event checked) There is plenty of space for this below the (Teleport) (Map) (Landmark) (Create Event...) buttons.
3) Event start time option: *ALL DAY*
Because really popular events are getting harder to get into with sim population limits and overpopulation lag, which is so unnecessary for Galleries/Grand Openings/Open House/Shopping Events/show-up-and-explore or other low-host-involvement events. Have the event spread out over an entire day rather than all at once, and who knows maybe the UK and AU folks will actually show up for your event as well.
4) (and of course the ability to convert event times to something other than PST/PDT for my friends that need it.
