I recently took over my wifes SL account. She could play no longer and I liked it so much I not only took it over but also have expanded the membership to $40.00 per month.
I don't mind being her character but would much rather be my own. It would look funny being a guy named Arianna, so it appears I'm stuck.
On the positive note, I like to shop now, LOL!!!

LOL. You cant change names on your account. One option would be to start a new account with a new name and have Arianna give the new account the selected inventory items and money. You will get a newer birthday on your new account, but you will have the gender specific name your looking for. But, you could just live live it how it is and have people call you Ari. Remember the boy named Sue? Good luck with what you decide to do.

The Lindens, Philip in particular, keeps talking about creating some way for players to change their avatar names in some way, but it has yet to take shape.
My guess is that they'll want to make some interface change so that Avatars with changed names can be traced back to their old names easily. Like having a "previous aliases" list in each player's profile.
