Having used Cinema 4D quite extensively in the past I grew quite fond of the tool it had, a Boolean I believe it was called, that could be used to exclude a shape from another. If you had a 10x10x10 cube centered at 0,0,0 (center of grid) and another shape, a square at 20x5x20 (a wall) and used this exclusion tool it would cut the cube out of the wall, making a window or door hole with precision, ease, and only two shapes (prims). If something like that were introduced into Second Life it would make construction a fair bit easier for some, for myself I know that much as I am used to working with such a tool at my disposal, as well as cut down somewhat on the number of prims required to make doorways, windows or any other shape that requires a hole be cut out of another shape. Unless I am missing something so totally obvious in hiding that already exists like this (in which case you can explain it and then proceed to ignore this thread ) I think a function/tool such as this would work wonders. Even if it only saves one prim every now and then, that's one less per window, per door, and in my mind; any way to lower prim count and facilitate ease is good. Thus is my suggestion: add a tool for use in build that works to exclude(cut) one shape out of another. (Or tell me how to use it if it's already existing )

There is a basic version of this already in SL.
In the build menu, look for the 'hollow' parameter on the top right of the object tab. Play around with that, below t is 'hollow shape' which gives a few options. Used in conjunction with cut you can get a nice variety of shapes, though it's still not nearly as useful as a true boolean function would be.

Yes, however, Lylani is asking for CSG (Constructed Solid Geometry), which SL doesn't have and won't ever truly have due to various reasons. However, SL does have sculpies, which can almost serve the same purpose, but require a 3rd party modeling studio (though there are in-world scripting tools that can give some/most of the functionality).
