Throughout my time in second life i noticed a tv here and a radio there...I also noticed they didnt do anything or looped textures or sound over and over again. I think it woukld be awesome to be able to upload a link to a streaming video or streaming audio for $100... All streaming video and audio goes directly to the client not through the servers and onlyh view when an avatar touches it so SL wouldnt Lag. llPlayVideoStream(link videostream, integer quality, integer volume); or llPlayAudioStream(link audiostream, integer quality, integer volume) I dunno, i thin its a good idea and should be added onto 1.2 release...Post you opinions and tell me what you think

It's a nice idea, but there's a couple of issues to be dealt with...
It's oben to abuse, as it doesn't cost. Currently if someone wants to spam audio they have to have paid the upload cost to the servers. Too much streaming could lead to lousy framerate/data availability with multiple streams competing for client bandwidth. Possibly also a good way to grief someone - get a few audio streams to follow them around 24/7, sucking up their available download. Ick.
Format - which one gets picked? Where does it stream from? Who licences the format used? Who pays for the stream bandwidth? What happens about copyright issues?
Would be cute, but personally it's a whole can of bandwidth-eating uber-worms we could do without. I have enough trouble on 128/512 ADSL as it is...

Plus, if you were looking at a streaming video from an angle, the client would have to be able to do the transformations. In realtime.
