Please please please can you Lindens please separate the give away/resell options in the game? I would love to make my items give away without having someone able to resell it. So many people want to buy gifts for their loved ones and we can only give them gift certificates or send the item to the receiver ourselves.

The problem is that you can't really separate the two:

* imagine we did have those two permissions and an item is "transfer, but not resale". The item can't be put for sale (or put in an object that's for sale), so someone puts it in a vendor that hands out it through script instead

* imagine they blocked that as well, the only way to transfer it is from avie-to-avie. The viewer is open-source so someone just writes (and sells) a bot that works in conjunction with a vendor to transfer "unsellable" inventory.

If there is any (even more so with monetary) incentive to bypass the permissions, it will happen.

Why do you explictly need them separated? If you're worried about "yard sales", that's an inherent "right" of the buyer they obtained when they *paid* you. Also, maybe (figuratively) 1 out of 100 customers will resell something, are you really that paranoid that you want to spite 99 of them just to keep the odd one from "reselling"? If you're handing out freebies, "no transfer" is really the one and only way to keep those - relatively - safe.
