As I stand in world today at a new club I watch something that as a designer makes me almost throw up.

It is 2 new AVS
One tells the other "hay ever goto SLX?" the other AV says
"no" .A Few secs later one AV says "wow thx what is that?" other AV reply "it is a folder of hairs!! try Them on they are free and you can give them to your friends"
I stood there and watched hairs from the most popular designers rezzing one after the other on this girls head
Hairs I own and paid good money for,
I inspected each one,all new accounts less the a month old with nothing in profile and the maker if the hairs,
one of the hairs was only put out for sale only 2 weeks ago!!
I know every one ways they fixed it and no one can use copybot,but there has to be some way these people are still using it!!
As a content maker It gave me lil hope to ever going to far in SL,All it do is lead my my hard work hand off from noobie to nooobie for free.I wish LL bought SLX and just closed it down,its not going to stop it I know,but it slow it down more!!

SLX is not the problem. Copies can be sold anywhere.

It sounds like you think that LL "fixed" the copybot problem. They did not. There's no way to, other than to report abuses.

The only way to prevent objects from being copybotted is to imbed scripts in them that the objects are useless without, because copybot can't copy scripts.

They need to fix the creator unknown problem, if that gets fixed, then you can easily find the people and file lawsuits....

Yea, that is when the other 70% of us that like it Player Run and Player Content and All the Player type thingies cash out all our Lindens, sell off our estates and move to some other grid that is "Player-Run".

I thought copybot was not allowed. Isn't it an offence that comes with a banning?

Copy Bot is a tool.

It is the use of the tool that determines whether or not you are banned.

What would be acceptable use of it, you wouldn't need to use it to copy your own stuff would you?

Being able to make exact mirror images of parts of your builds can certainly save a lot of time. It would also, in some circumstances. be useful to be able to make -- with the new owner's agreement, obviously -- copies of your stuff when the sl asset server monster eats the originals in your inventory, I suppose.
