Better filtering of search results?

So ok I decide maybe I'll give SL another go. Yes I'm not a premium resident. Main reason being SL is so unstable. I do pay to play another game which rarely has problems.

But anyways, as I have been trying to find a plot for RENT at a reasonable tier price.
The trouble I'm having is there always seems to be land for SALE mixed in with land for RENT. No I don't wanna be tied to a plot I would have to go thru the hassle of selling if I decide I don't want to stay there anymore. Evidently alot of the "land barons" are misleading in thier ads.

I don't know if it's the listers or the filtering of search results? I do specifically use the land for rent option in search but more than often I get land for sale.

Usually on most other searches for what ever I can even get results that have nothing to do with what I'm looking for. Possibly listers faults? Either way makes searching for specific items/deals time consuming and frustrating.

Pretty much all land on private estates is for rent (and yes some argue that). Look for some that says 0L down, or no upfront fee. That sounds like what you are after.

Shameless plug, I rent land on my estate and list is as the price for a month's rent. So it's not going to show up as a 0 buy price. But my land description states the purchase price is your first month's rent.

I agree, the land search tools are quite lacking. I just don't think updating them is high on LL's priority list right now.
