i just thought of this yesterday whie having a pool party. One of my friends sat down on the lounger and said..no how do u lie back on this?? it was funny but it got me to think Couldnt you add some sort of action or something that says lean on or lye down on???that would be really kool and would make more furniture make more sense...we can use almost every other furniture except for loungers and beds..... So maybe just add like a lie down on action or something

From what i've seen the only way you actually do that is make an invisible box, sit on it, go into appearance and then rotate the box so it looks like you're lying down. Or something to that effect. Kinda complicated for something so apparently simple as just being able to lie down or recline. Otherwise this issue might have to be resolved when or if they create a system where we can do 'customizable AV gestures'. Anyone else knows?

OW OW OW! I can feel the LL developers and graphic artists eyeballs lauching out of their eyesockets like they were attached to one of Nada's "Launch Into Space" scritps!
I know we ask for a lot (Heck, I'm one of the askers myself), but having talked extensively with one of the UO "I wanna sit in the freakin chair" team members, let me tell you that the simple things we take for granted (like sitting or lying down) are definitely not that simple. The fact that we already have so many wonderful animations and gesutres only serves to mask that point even further.
It was the funniest thing: the developers and graphic artits for UO (Ultima Online, for the uninitiated) worked for many weeks straight (I think it was like 2 and 1/3 months total) to get sitting in a chair to work PROPERLY. The code and the graphics were just not simple--even for a 3/4 perspective 2-D world! (Imagine what efforts are required in a fully 3D world!)
So after hundreds of hours of really hard work put in by lots of people in both departments, they finally and triumphantly announced in the login notes that "SITTING IN CHAIRS NOW WORKS" and what was the user community response? "About time!" Yeah, a few probably said thank you.
Just felt that story was pertinent and worth retelling. Not that I think that anyone here would take the same attitude, but putting it in perspective never hurts.
