Q: What happens when you make a reeeeeally thin/long red laser beam? (i.e. 0.010 thick by 40 meters long)
A: Everything within 100 meters turns ghastly red!
I want a translucent laser beam that appears at night but casts little to zero illumination. Putting transparent lights near it doesn't create the effect I want, which is a bright red beam standing out against the night sky.
So I will ask, AGAIN, for some kind of luminosity control. Or, failing that, a "light self only" flag. Hell, an "unlit" flag would do it (i.e. UnrealEd). It would even save a few cycles.
