I'd like to get suggestions on the sort of animations that everyone thinks would be fun for 'interaction' between two avatars.

We haven't implemented this yet (animations or interactions explicitly involving two avatars) but clearly it would be cool.

So for example Hugging, Handshake, Kiss, Slap, etc.

What would everyone like to see?

Hugging and handshakes for sure, but those are obvious and you already listed them.

Here are some others:
Some different 2 person dance moves.
Fighting moves (punches and kicks that the other person responds to)

Piggy back rides, auto follow, sitting on lap, cuddling (also laying and cuddling) there are other things I can think of but they might not be appropriate hehe. Hmmm, maybe an animation that shows you giving a gift to somone else, kneeling in front of someone (ie proposing, not the other thing ur thinking you pervert haha) Dancing would be nice, and maybe flying hand in hand?

I am loving the suggestions here... many seem reminiscent of other games I have played, but that's ok. I enjoyed the animations there just as much as I will when they get added in here...

Comfort - either an arm around the shoulder, "buddy" style, or around the waist, as if between loved ones.

Hug - friendly/romantic

Kiss - cheek/mouth/forehead/hand/feet

Dance - several different types would be nice

Whisper - I know we have an individual whisper (right?) but one that involves both parties would be cool.

Worship - this was one of my favorites in TSO... this would also go together (or replace) the "kiss feet" from the Kiss suggestion...

Keep those great ideas rolling though. I'm still in "newbie/lurker" mode for the mostpart and getting caught up to date with the ideas that have been pouring in since...well, a while now I suppose, but I like seeing all of this healthy discussion.

Dances - Disco, HipHop, Break Dance, Funk (do the James Brown), Swing, Hustle, Freak, Tango, & Walts to name a few.

Friendly Actions- Hugs, Flying Hug, Sweet Kiss, Blow a kiss, Hot Kiss, Dip Kiss, Shake hands, High Five, Give me five

Unfriendly Actions- Pile Drive, kick, slap, spank, poke in eye

Most of the above mentioned actions are from TSO. Hugging and kissing are the most popular social interaction used in The SIM Online. Pile Drive and ripping your heartout are the most popular unfriendly actions.

Can't wait to try these actions out once implemented.

FYI to some people, we already have kicking and punching...
However different types of punches and kicking with the other foot, perhaps an ACTUAL roundhouse kick (with either foot) would be nice.

How about making it so that you don't have to attach a block to your hand or foot to actually hit someone...

pulling someone away by the ear (Ow!)
standing on someone's shoulders

It would be nice if we could use the movement keys to move in different directions while we dance. Also, while dancing, we could press keys for moves like whirls, dips, etc.
