I just spent 2 hours looking for an object that was showing up in the objets list in the About Land dialog. It would be good if the objects tab not only told us that objects belonging to a certain user exist but where they are located.

It does! =D

If you select the name of the owner in the list, it will highlight all rendered objects of theirs in white. It's a little bit titchy, and might stop highlighting if you change focus to another window in SL, but it does do it. If it's a small object it can be hard to see, and if it's out of visual range it's not highlighted, but otherwise it will. Highlights go through other objects, too, so that's good.

i agree, needs to be much better than it is... its kinda stupid to find someone's object to have to move up and down at different heights looking over and over just hoping its in range to show up with a white highlight. the current way it works like Keira explained is TERRIBLE and barely useful.

A beacon would fix that instead of highlighting.

I vote for this. 4096m is way to high now for Highlight to work effectively. Also maybe one day we can get a list of objects with coordinates, if we ask for it in the About Land dialog, kinda like how Search works.

I agree, a beacon would be so much more useful. Currently, I am fairly certain there are any number of prims being taken up in my land well outside the confines of the build itself. I simply can't find them.
