Property Owner vs Vendors

Living between Jessie and Raush we acquire alot of additional prims from left over bullets, bombs etc. Setting auto return would be nice but not an option since we have 80 plus vendors also on the property. Adding them to group is also not an option.

It would be nice if property owners could create a white list of some sort to exclude the vendors from the auto return feature to help keep the unwanted prims cleaned up.

I'm sure that other property owners with vendors probably have the same problem. Its a pain to have to run around and detect/remove all the unwanted prims every day.

It would also be nice if you could move other people's objects if they're on your land. That might be a workaround for the first problem too since you could scoot them off your land, return the unwanted ones, then bring them back.

Julian, if the objects are physical, that's easy. Just get an orbiter gun that works on objects as well as avatars.

I support anything that gives us more control over what is and isnt allowed on our land.

This includes, but is not necessarily limited to:
- which objects/attachments can enter the land
- which scripts are allowed to run
- whether Debug and Edit mode are allowed

While an object whitelist and blacklist would be the best option, (Delete all objects from people in Group Foo. Don't delete Bar Jones' objects.) here's an interim suggestion:
Would it be possible to change the 4x4m squares of ground directly under the vendors to not return objects there and only return objects on the rest of the land? Yes, it's not as "clean" as before, but better that you have to clean up one or two objects than hundreds.

(Also, a list of objects on your land would be really handy: "Okay, I have 700 objects, Catherine has 100... and assorted newbies have 3-50. I'll just return all objects belonging to the newbies.";)

But if in a tower type store wouldnt this delete all the objects above and below this vendor? Or i guess setting this under all of them would probably save that.

It just would be easier to add names to a list to not remove items with this name from group land.

Maybe adding a subfolder to your group or group land to include all objects from the people invited and listed in the subgroup. This would not give them any other perks from the group members nor even include them in the group count or group listing.

I'm just thinking you wouldnt want to add a bunch of people to your group because they are not part of the land group dealings.

No, you DON'T want the land the vendors are on to return objects, otherwise they'll return the vendors.

right but wouldnt you have to parcel off each 4x4 square to exclude them from object returns?

Not every parcel, just every parcel that had a vendor on it.

I definitely endorse the white/black list idea.

Especially if it can be made to work with groups as well as individuals.

Although, I think the best idea is Catherine's:

Owned By Others: 25 (Details)

The details screen would be like:
Joe Schmoe: 2 (Return)
Some Body: 5 (Return)
Cheeky Git: 18 (Return)

It might even be useful to break down group members' objects this way, as well.

Agreed. I'd also like group-owned land to know who's in a group, not just what group the member had active when they created the object. Too many group builds have been interfered with because the group wasn't correct.

I'm sure there's all kinds of things that we could ask for though... a "switch group ownership" feature?

The best case would be a simple whitelist/blacklist. Then we can ask them for improvements. :)

You can actually do this. Problem is... once you do, nobody, not even creator/owner, can edit the object. So if you're going to do this you'd better be happy with it the way it is. :-/

That's true, but it would only solve about 10% of my problem. And I could always push physical objects onto my neighbors' land manually. :)

I also like Grims idea of having available a list of everyone and the total number of items they have on your land.

The reason is that on our property we have about 80 vendors and we allot them 50 prims each for their space.

Not only would the list with total items help keep them within their prim count it would also show what people have items that are not suppose to be there. With this information given and the option beside their name to remove all such items belonging to a specific person would help with the unwanted prims.

While the return all objects is great if you are the only one that creates on your land I think the above idea would still benefit everyone.

If you are sole owner of your land but you have had someone else come in and say build your house or what ever then the return objects feature doesnt work.

So, whether you have a small piece of land or a full sim group owned these features would be a benefit to all.

Its not fun having to do daily scans of unwanted prims.

Currently Jazzy Jade Wolf supports some "Outside" vendors and Items for the interum we have them on their own parcels but it does make it unwieldy to find others stuff when you have group own land and it says 400 to the group and 75 to others and u know the others are some of your members that forgot to have their group settings on.

Its an ardious task at times to keep things cleaned up especially when you have newbs crashing planes and motorcycles in your land.
