chating

a friend and i last night were talking for a while using the IM feature while working on your respective houses, we both agreed that a reply button or shotrcut would really improve the IM system in game.

something like in everquest you can hit a button and i brings up the last person you sent a IM to and you can send one back without looking for there name again, i like to close the IM window while i work on my house and if i could click the "R" key that would pull up the IM window and put my cursor in it to send a message back.

ah, now i understand. i agree, a shortcut key to pop up the IM window would be nice (assuming that chat and IM can't be integrated into one window).

thats pretty much what he means, integrate the IM function into the main chat so that you could close the IM windows all together and just talk through the main chat while using direct tells and not talking out in the open air. the whole 'r' thing was r for reply, which in EQ when you hit r it /reply soandso (cursor) so you could just type your message and hit send without typing /send blah blah! or /tell /reply etc. all automatic with hotkey R
