Suggestion for SL Communication Expansion

Hi all! First time posting here, but I wanted to make 2 suggestions.

The first one is not really related directly with the viewer, but would be a nice feature. An External Instant Messaging system that's seperate from the viewer itself (similar to AIM or YIM). This would allow individuals to still hold conversations with Friends and other residents even if they do not have access to a viewer, with a possible web browser based "dumbed down" version availble later on.

I've come into many occasions where I have wanted to contact someone for multiple reasons, but have not been able to due to either working on an outdated system, not able to install the SL Client Viewer at my current location (work/college) or just in general working in another program (SL does take up alot of resources). Something designed to this extent would allow for greater communication with people either in or out of the virtual world. Also this would allow for the client to be installed on more portable hardware, such as an iphone.

My second suggestion is merely a simple request.... Please move the "Delete" button a few spaces away from the "Wear" button in the inventory. Just seems a bit of a pain when you accidently click delete and have to go fishing for that one item, especially in larger inventories.

This forum is really more for the discussion of suggestions, or refining one by asking for comments before submitting it than actually informing LL.

If you want to make an actual feature request, use https://jira.secondlife.com (if it's daunting, don't feel bad to post back, it's not the most intuitive - or fast - thing ). Do search before submitting one because it's likely that someone already put one in for that issue.

As far as an IM client goes, it seems LL wants to throw out their own messaging code at some point and just use a third-party (ie Jabber/IRC) at which point you'd probably just use a Jabber client to talk with people "offline". That's likely to be years into the future though .
