Surname Voting

I saw that you just used my RL surname as an SL Last Name - and I missed it. Would have been WAY cool to have an SL Alt with my RL name.

Why not have a mechanism for people to a) propose a Last Name, and b) get notified when it's made available? I know this may lead to some elaborate scam where corporates can vote-stuff for "XYZ P*ps*" and the like, and that such tribal style names are supposed to go for big money, but I back with the little guys here I can think of 2 or 3 I'd love to propose, and I'd probably pay double the usual alt-registration fee to pull that stunt with my RL name.

So howzabout it?

Several proposals for this exist in the FVT now - and Linden comments suggest that it is "in development". No ETA, but it's been acknowledged.

Sorry, I half-read your comment - what's in development is the ability to change your name, not suggest new ones.. so disregard..
