This isnt exactly a feature suggestion but theres no better place to put it. I can sum this up in 3 letters (WTF) but ill go on anyway. Ok so we have 'calling cards' but of course we can use the people search to IM anyone we want anyway. Are calling cards supposed to be a friends list? I get 300 a day i dont know half the people i have cards for and i dont want to. Can we have a friends list or just do away with the no good calling cards? please.. if someone can give me a good reason that calling cards are usefull feel free. O well thanks for reading, see ya.

Well... most people now just have their friends on their calling cards.
There's no particular reason why calling cards couldnt be replaced by a private friends list. At the moment calling cards let people locate you wherever you are, but personally I prefer to get someone to Offer Teleport me rather than sneak up on them.

Alot of people are starting to use them as friends only, I only keep them cause I feel bad saying no... but theres no real reason to accept them, just say to people "Sorry, only want close friends", I think most will understand, if not, they suck. The only usefullness of them is to be able to be notified by who goes online/offline, anything else really you can use the Find window to find out, you can IM and Offer Teleports from the Find also. Kinda dissapointing they haven't done much with Calling Cards, they could make it more like other Messengers, with options to see which of your calling cards you see go off/online individualy, or do other things. Oh I forgot one other usefull thing with Calling Cards is if you have someones calling card you can grant them permission to edit your objects and such. I think thats all. I do have a Friends/Buddy list script that will let you see selected people go on/offline if you have alot of calling cards and don't want to delete but only want to be notified of selected people. But really theres no need to have calling cards of someone you don't care to see again. They used to count towards your bonus, but not anymore.

Already mentioned, but your calling cards show up on the map. I use them via the map to see who is online. Its easier for me to do it that way.
I dont know how many cards I have since they quit keeping tabs on them, but its around 950. I turned off the option to see when they come and go. Not seeing that message constantly is a bit more emmersive for me. If I want to see who is online, I just look at the map.
I mostly trade cards with people so they have access to me. Im a Mentor and I like being available to help out when I can. Trading cards also serves as a reminder for me for people I just met that I would like to see again. Easier than writing down everyone's name.
