Could we get a llSetStatus constants that lets us lock the position of the object along the axis, like we can lock the rotation?

llSetStatus(STATUS_MOTION_X, FALSE);

The reason I ask this llMoveToTarget() isn't exact. It adds an error of only like .001m which is nothing... and I cannot think of something that requires that sort of precision yet, but it could happen in the near future.

you mean I could take that (ever so slight) wobble out of some of my objects

That'd be a really handy feature, elevators that really can only go up and down. Sometimes I still accidentally bump my elevator and knock it out of alignment.

just out of curiousity which function are you using? llSetHoverHeight, or llMoveToTarget()?

at the moment because I specify x & y to account for variation on invalid axes

I just wanted to bounce this thread up to the top.
I would really like to see the feature Nada mentions (STATUS_MOTION_X flag). I can see a lot of uses for being able to restrict the motion of a phsical object to a certain plane. I don't know how easy it would be to implement this, I guess it depends on how the physics engine works, but if it was added within a few releases I would give my *soul* to linden lab, not to mention my first born son.
