i asked for a few times on different occasions over the last 2 years, but only answer i got was 2 years ago from torley...
why don“t you create a new avatar mesh? this one is a joke! its so outdated and ugly with the default wl settings!
at least double poly count, make a smarter uv map, allow bump, specular, and maybe normal maps. allow custom morphs. allow face / hand animations (at least hand animations) and create better face emotion morphs if you think face animations are more than you can do at LL. (yeah i know poser doesnt have bones for faces, but poser is crap anyway).
this would boost business in sl a looot since everyone who wants to use a new avatar needs new textures for it too.
you could add it, so you can keep an old avatar if you like it edgy and ugly (or just like some of the items you have for it) or pick the new one if you like it pretty and round and smooth.
edit: also add a built in ao into the viewer, aos are the number one sim laggers (well at least high on the list)

From: Yuriko Nishi also add a built in ao into the viewer That's something we've all wanted for a long time. If it's possible, it would certainly be nice.

I'm so tired of these low-poly avatars.... This is like playing a game from the 90s. If they do not improve the Avatars then this game has no shelf life, and I thought Shelf Life is what this game was BUILT around the idea of.
More polys, Linden Labs... your avatars need them or your in-world player-run businesses will begin to flounder as this game's ability to Teach New Artists and give exercises to Modern Day Artists will blow away in the wind.
Every month/year that goes by where these avatars continue to fall behind the times, graphically, this game becomes less of a Sandbox and more of a Mudbox, headed toward dried up Cement parking lot.
