I'd like to put forward an idea that Group IM's have the ability to be toggled on/off - so that one can mute a group without actually having to leave it. There are times when one doesn't need to see all the IM's and it just gets annoying and other times that it's fun to be involved - having a choice would be a nice feature.

Seconded! There are some groups I'd like to be in, but can't because the sheer volume of group IMs is too much, and just grates on my nerves.
