Glueing Objects vs Linking

How about a glue feature? For example, you can take two linked objects and "glue" them together, so they move together, but you can attach diffrent scripts to each and each can have diffrent properties? You can also have the parent release its children. Its really like it sounds; seprate objects with seprate properties and seperate scripts that still move together like they were linked. Whatcha think?

Why do you seem to imply that linked objects can not have seperate scripts? I have an object made of 6 linked objects and 3 of them have different scripts running on them. It's my sink - come see it Or did I misunderstand?

If your talking about rotating a group of linked objects linked to another set of linked objects i kinda see what he is talking about. I have this gatlin gun im making and the barel are a few prims, and so is the main body, but to link them is a task and a half for if you mess up you have to start ALL OVER! It's a pain in the butt lol. Having a way to group link objects and have them keep there link so say You can link 6 prims together, and another 6 prims together make each its own element, then link thoes 2 together. Would make it so if you had to you can unlink thoes 2 elements and the original 6 of each would still be linked. Is that what you speak of darwin? Would be a nice feature  memorry linking have a "unlink all command" or something.

hmm what you want is more like a gravitation or magnetic field that causes objects to be attracted to one another.

problem with that is that avatars are far more complex than primitives... we have specific attachement points that are all work in tandem. Primitves, well they don't obviously. the closest thing you get to it is a joint.
basically you want a more complex linking structure. More Hierarchy than single parent and multiple children.
