To keep going, and going, and going.....

Could we get a key that does the equivalant of holding the forward key down?

This is different from 'fly to' because:
- you don't need a specific target
- you can control where you are going (height as well as direction) as you fly/walk

When flying long distances my finger gets sore from holding down the W key for so long, I try switching off to the arrow key for a while but that finger isn't as strong and gets tired even quicker. And then my Extreme Digit Fatigue (EDF) causes me to mistype causing embarassing typos, or even worse - get an EDF related Digit cramp when I know the answer at trivia competitions! This delima has cost me tens of dollars at least!

Well, maybe not. But I still would like this.

maybe something like holding [Shift] plus a direction... "locks" the direction you've pressed, and your avatar will continue in that direction until you press another directional key... is this possible?

gah no, I want to be able to press other directional keys while it is on auto forward. please.

Not sure if it still exists, but if you hold forward on the numeric keypad, then turn numlock on, you'll continue to go forward until you turn numlock OFF and press forward again. I believe you can still turn using A or D or the directional keys.
