I'm having some difficulty bridging Joomla 1.5 and phpBB 3.
Anyone have a simple way of doing this?

A couple years ago, I put a site together with Joomla and phpBB. If I remember correctly, it was just a question of replacing certain of Joomla's modules with those of phpBB. Sorry I don't remember the specific how-to's. It's been a while. There were decent instructions for it online at the time, though. Have you tried Googling for some?
I do remember that depending on how you set it up, there was the option of running phpBB inside a Joomla page, or letting the forum launch in its own page. Either way, the two systems would share the same database, so there would be no need for multiple profiles per user, or any other unnecessary redundancies.
I also remember you need to be careful to make sure CSS sheets for both systems don't have any conflicting rules between them. If both sheets contain identically named items then one or the other won't load properly in the browser. You'll need to rename them in one or the other, to make them totally separate, and then reconfigure whatever pages are sourcing from them, to reflect the correct names. That can be kind of a pain.
That's how it was back then, anyway. Like I said it's been a couple years. It may well have gotten easier by now. I don't do Web stuff very often. Maybe someone with more specific knowledge will chime in. Good luck.
