I am sorry if t his is not the right place to post this, I was looking for a political/non-profit forum and this is the only thing I found were GNU/Linux users will look at.

we have formed a chapter of our world wide group BinaryFreedom inside SL to promote
the use of Free Software and Digital Freedom/FreeSpeech like we do in real life. we are a non-profit in MA, you can visit our main page:
http://www.binaryfreedom.info

and here is our page dedicated to our SL chapter:
http://wiki.binaryfreedom.info/index.php/Second_Life

we created a group called BinaryFreedom, if you like to join our actions inside SL
or even in real life please join our group,
we are Political oriented, even 90% of all are *very& technical this is not the purpose of group group.

Refer to our website for more information

Thanks so much for reading and sorry if this is OT here,
I am going to work to see if we can get some non-profit/political forum or something here.

from Linux Client Alpha Testers to Resident-Run Websites.

Rek2, while your inquiry is related to Linux.. you're probably better off with this thread having been posted in Resident-Run Websites; that being said, i have moved it to help you achieve your targeted audience, as the original forum you posted to is for discussions about Linux as it relates to SL and your post is more along the lines of an announcement for those interested in a topic that is expounded upon at the website you have linked to.

i hope this has helped and not hindered. :)

While I agree with abuses of software patents and the DMCA, I do think programmers have the right to charge for their work, and control their work. LPGL is good, GPL is very bad. Stahlman's idea you can charge to provide a download or whatever is nonsense. Stahlman's world view favors hardware manufacturers and service providers (LL is a good example), and is nonsense for professional programmers (we should own the rights to our work just like anyone else). If people want to release their stuff under GPL, good for them, but don't expect it will be anything but niche, and don't be surprised that the vast majority of programmers ignore GPL code.
