It's basically a website about free accounting software for SecondLife that I have released. http://ironperth.com/phpBB2/tm.phpTransaction Manager is accounting software for SecondLife. It allows you to manage, query, and visualize SecondLife L$ transactions from the Second Life and SLExchange websites. It is compatible with Windows and Mac, and very soon will be compatible for Linux. It can: - View and graph Top Selling Items - View and graph trends over time - Search and query data - no 30 day limits - All your accounts in one place - completely free / No banner ads / No spyware New releases should include Linden Economy graphs that you can use to compare and contrast with your own. There are forums, a news page, and more to come on the website. Let me know if you have any questions, don't forget to check out the help tab. Cheers, Iron.

I was initially excited to give your application a try, even though it requires yet *another* runtime to be installed on an already bloated Operating System.
However, once I found out I have to entery my Second Life Login Information into your program, I decided against trying it. I think changing your program to work from the Excel files saved from the SL website would be a better alternative, as I'm not about to give my login info to any person or application downloaded off the web.
Just something to consider.

Unfortunately, even if I did that, you wouldn't be ensured of security. As soon as you install an exec from the web, that person could install a keylogger (which is trivial) and get your password that way.
You're welcome to run wireshark to ensure that I'm not doing anything nefarious. However, I have to tell you, I've been in SecondLife for over two years and run various businesses here. I have everything to lose and nothing to gain from trying to steal information from my customers.
Also, you don't have to enter in password information into my program if you don't want to. You're welcome to log in via Internet Explorer and then run the software after you've done that. It should still import just fine.

well, you make valid points. If it will work after the login has been conducted, I will give it a go. EDIT: Ok I gave it a try and so far my account hasn't been drained As for the app, it's nice. One should certainly read the help tab, as the interface is not as intuitive as one might like. You can do many standard types of searches, by name, transaction type, price range, date, even time. You can also group the data by one of these and graph the data. In short this is very nice if you don't have Excel. But as a free app, it's pretty good. I give it 3.5 stars.

uummm ... I wanted to try this because it looked interesting, but I cannot seem to be able to install it. Apollo installed fine. But when I tried to install Transaction Manager, I get an apollo.exe - Unable To Locate DLL pop-up with the following message: "The dynamic link library MSVCR80.dll could not be found in the specified path ..." After I click the OK button, I get another pop-up with the following message: "This application requires a version of the Adobe Apollo runtime which is no longer supported. Please contact the application author for an updated version." I'm on Windows 2000, Service Pack 4. Is this the issue?

On windows 2000, you need to add this "C:\Program Files\Commons Files\Adobe Apollo\Versions\1.0.M3\Microsoft.VC80.CRT" to your path variable.
You can get that by going into control panel and then system. It's on the advanced tab.
Full Support for windows 2000 will be out pretty soon in the beta, where you don't have to change your path variable.

Seems really nice, but there's no way I'll give out my login information. Still seems cool though, for those who would.
But it begs a question... I know the TOS isn't exactly popular as of late, but isn't that still considered a violation of it?

Hey Broken, I address that question above. But to repeat here in different words to help clear up some misconceptions: a) You don't need to use my software to login, you can just login via Internet Explorer, and my software will use the cookies to get your transactions. Even if you do login via my software, you're typing the username/password into an embedded browser and not my program. b) Any software you install can steal your password info by simply installing a keylogger - which is fairly trivial. For example, all these sculptie previewers could be installing keyloggers (they aren't of course!). The idea that you have to type it directly into a program like the one I provide in order to be insecure is not true. c) You're welcome to install wireshark ( http://www.wireshark.com) to sniff the wire and make sure I'm not doing anything nefarious (I'm not). d) I really have everything to lose and nothing to gain by trying to steal people's passwords. I've invested far too much into SL to attract the ire of Lindens! e) And no, it's not against the TOS because you're not sharing your password with me. My program never sees your login info (everything goes in via the embedded browser) and it doesn't store it anywhere, and it most certainly doesn't send it across the wire to anyone (except via SSL to secondlife.com of course!). Cheers, Iron.

I dunno though, anything that asks me for my password and info is iffy, however, people seem pleased with it. And you do have an option not to. I'll watch it, and see how people feel after a few weeks of using it. =)

Well, in case it wasn't clear above, you do not have to type in your password info. You can login via Internet Explorer in a seperate window and then run the program without ever having to type in your password information. In other words, you can login via Internet Explorer, and then install the software without ever typing in your username/password and it will work (as long as you don't log out from IE!). Thus, the program will work even though you've never typed in your login info during the time it's been on your computer. Hopefully that's clear enough

Hi Iron, nice app, flex/apollo rox it's the future man, it's the future. ok, some minor observations I've made: It's not very intuitive but I got along just fine, my only thing was that when i pressed the "Refresh now" after login I got "not connected" for awhile, then it connected and downloaded the bytes and nothing showed up. I think I've downloaded 3 or 4 times until finally I went to the "Todays SL Totals" and I got the info showing up I've excluded everything but Object Sell and i still had a long list with what I had sold and bought. Maybe I saw it wrong, is there a way to separate Object sell between my sales and my buys? I was able to separate what I wanted in groups with the initials I use in every pack I sell Your Help text is cool, may I suggest a drop-down with the default combinations of selection you suggest in the help? (the most popular, the most selling day)... I love the graph thingy, feels like I own a big corporation or something lmao It's a very cool app, congrats Iron. Thumbs up. EDIT: I still want to mess around a little more with it, I'm still not sure if I can save the graphs and groups, or manage to get info older than 1 month.

What were the types that showed up? Make sure you've excluded the types that you don't want to see. Yup, you can get graphs / info older than 1 month. From: someone I love the graph thingy, feels like I own a big corporation or something lmao It's a very cool app, congrats Iron. Thumbs up.
Thanks for the kind words! Cheers, Iron.
