We are an Internet Research Center focusing on understanding people's behavior on the net.
We designed this questionnaire in order to learn more about the meaning of the visual characteristics of Avatar in Online games. Your personal experience is very important to us, and we would be very grateful if you would take the time the fill out this short questionnaire.
This questionnaire is to help us learn a little bit about : 1. you and the secondlife Community 2. you and your avatar 3. about you as a person
The questionnaire will be completely confidential and you are not required to identify yourself.

I don't know... maybe if the survey was on an actual website, and not in an attachment that could contain viruses... I might be more inclined to participate.

Jessy, it's not easy at all. Most of the questions you only allow a single answer; for most of them I wanted to answer "all of the above". Also, for "how long do you spend on SL each week", you have a maximum choice of "10 hours". That's seriously underestimating the addiction factor of SL! I know people who spend more than 10 hours a *day* on SL.

And then you have lots of black/white choices, where the answer is "grey". For instance - "does your avatar look like you" has two responses - "very", and "not at all". What about those who feel their avatar doesn't look very much like them, but has quite a few features that are similar?

Also, there are lots of "negative" questions on there, which can be very confusing. For instance "I am not interested in abstract ideas" - where you can agree or disagree. It's much clearer, and loses nothing, if you word this as a positive statement: "I am interested in abstract ideas", agree or disagree. Otherwise you end up with people who are interested in abstract ideas thinking "hmm, well im not NOT interested, so I guess that's a disagree..."

The survey could be interesting, but I think the questionnaire needs redesigning to make it usable.

Aren't you sure you don't want to not answer those questions?

Really, that's a Word doc. The risk of viruses kept me faaaar away from downloading it to even look. (^_^)

THANK YOU FOR YOUR INPUTS, iAM TRYING TO CHANGE A FEW THINGS TO MAKE IT EASIER BUT SOME OF THE QUESTIONS ARE FROM PRIOR QUESTIONNAIRRE AND ALREADY HAVE RELIABILITY TEST SO i CANT CHANGE THEM. JC

I read somewhere once that research in SL has to be approved by LL but maybe I'm wrong.

Anyway please stop bumping your own thread, it's a very poor practice.
