We are opening this post as a discussion about the current state of the SL economy and how that affects D&D Dogs.
As many of you know, we have been selling our pet dogs for a while now at L$400 each. This has been a sweet spot for a while since it was not too expensive for most. But the current state of the Linden Dollar has made us think about how to help the economy while at the same time being able to serve our customers openly and honestly.
It may seem backwards to say that raising the price of something is helping the economy. But if you think about it: If a product is in demand, and the price is just out of reach, the buyer is going to want to get the money to buy it. That creates demand for the L$, which makes it more valuable. When the dollar is more valuable, content creators have more incentive to create better products that sell.
A more valuable dollar is a benefit to all of us, not just sellers. It means more great content will get created, which stimulates sales, which provides more incentive to make better products, etc. etc.
So where am I going with all of this? Well we are here to ask your opinion. We are contemplating making a slight adjustment to our pricing structure, as follows:
Older dogs (models that existed pre v2.0) would remain the same, L$400. These include Darwood, Bulldog, Poodle, Dachshund, and Dalmatian.
Newer dogs would cost L$500. These include St. Bernard, St. Bernard Puppy, Basset ound, Great Dane, and Chihuahua.
Why the split? We feel that our building skills and style have improved since the first set of dogs were created. You will notice that the newer dogs have more details, are better and more accuarately built, plus they have a different feel, or style about them.
Current tricks will most likely remain the same, but newer tricks may see a slight increase in price, depending on the trick complexity.
So please let us know your opinions of this change, and please know that you will always receive the best support and service that you've come to expect as a D&D customer.
Thanks!
